Questions & Answers Regarding COVID
Q. Is the tree lot going to be open this year?
A. Absolutely! We open November 27th, we also are putting protocols in place to keep our customers and volunteers safe. However things will be a little different this season and we hope you will bear with us while we try to navigate the waters.
Q. Will masks be required?
A. Yes, as a fundraiser for a STEM themed program we are firm believers in science, and the science says wear a mask to slow the spread. Adherence to the county mask mandate will be strictly enforced for all customers and volunteers.
Q. Will you be limiting the number of people on the lot?
A. Yes, we will be limiting the number of people on the lot in order to maintain safe physical distancing. This will, of course, create the possibility of an occasional line. We will be creating a space where you and your group can wait until it is safe to enter and we apologize for any inconvenience.
Q. Will you be taking appointments for entry without waiting?
A. No, we will not be making appointments to skip any lines, the lot will continue to operate on a first come first served basis.
Q. Will you be taking temperatures before entry?
A. No, we will not be doing health screenings before entry, however, but there will be signage with self screening questions relating to COVID symptoms and when you should stay home. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms posted you should not enter and you should contact your health care provider immediately.
Q. What steps are you taking to keep the lot clean?
A. All staff will be wearing masks and washing hands after every guest interaction. We will be disinfecting high touch surfaces and shared tools after each use. There will also be sanitizer stations at various locations on the lot for your convenience.
Q. What forms of payment do you take?
A. We recommend you utilize our contactless payment option. We will also be accepting all major credit cards, cash, and checks.
Q. Will you be offering curbside service?
A. We have always been of the opinion that every tree is a snowflake and no two are alike. For that reason we don’t offer an option to buy a tree sight unseen. However we will continue to be full service and our volunteers will be available to help you pick out the perfect tree, get it to your car, secured, and on your way home.
Q. Will delivery still be available?
A. Yes, but due to COVID and in an effort to keep our customers and volunteers safe we will be making some changes. Due to current circumstances we will only be offering outdoor drop off service this year. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL OUR DELIVERY VOLUNTEERS BE ALLOWED INSIDE YOUR HOME. We will make every effort to make sure your tree is straight and everything is how you would like it on your front yard, backyard, or porch.
We do not intend to keep this policy in the future and we appreciate your understanding in these unprecedented times.
Q. Are there restrooms available to the public?
A. Unfortunately no, there may be restrooms available at Mitchell Park or the Mitchell Park Library however we cannot guarantee their availability as they are city-run facilities.
We appreciate your continued patronage and happy holidays!
